I rented Driftwood on Fripp Island from Nola and Steve Wood. The house was perfect for our family. It was very clean, had plenty of towels, and beachtowels. The kitchen was very well stocked; we were able to have a low country boil while here! The hosts were very easy to work with. They answered my many questions in a very timely manner. Condo convenient to beach, but not clean!

This condo is very convenient to the beach and the beach is beautiful and the sea so calm even when it’s windy. Balcony is good spot for sunrise and sunset views on the inlet and manatees. Kitchen is adequate for basic food prep. Beds comfortable. However, the condo is not clean, floors were not washed and sanitized. Sand caked in the one closet. Dust accumulated in laundry and the louvered doors, no lint filter in the dryer! But when the dishwasher did not clean the dishes, we discovered the food filter so gunked up we could hardly get it out! Rotting food debris was caked on every where! And that explains some of the funky smell. So I am soaking the dishwasherparts now as a simple wash could not clean out the mess. We are only hand washing now. Have pictures but can’t seem to share them here. They charge a huge fee for cleaning, so this is inexcusable. Obviously the owners do not stay here or care about the property that much. We will seek a better cared for property next week.

Great experience. We'll be back.

Booking was easy. Communication was excellent. Clear and accurate instructions for parking, arrival, departure. We were checked in on by text and phone to make sure everything was good. The condo was perfect. Views great. Liked the pool and deck area in addition to the beautiful beach. Not overly crowded. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

have just returned from a fantastic 3…

have just returned from a fantastic 3 dsys at this lovely chalet. Caldon 43 Norton park, The chalet was beautiful. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The beds were to die for. I congratulate the owners on this really beautiful place. It is quiet and central for anything you want to do. I would thoroughly recommend this Chalet to anyone. Don't miss out you will not be disappointed

My plans changed a couple of times due…

My plans changed a couple of times due to date changes in my schedule. This place was way more than accommodating me with that. Almost instant answers to any questions that I emailed to them. I haven't even been there yet but I know that it's going to be a wonderful experience!Thank you Vrbo!

Confirmation means nothing

We have used VRBO several times before. So far we’ve been lucky and haven’t had much trouble. The issue I had recently involves their “quick confirmation” process. We booked a place, received a confirmation, paid in full, then got cancelled by the owner. Back to the drawing board. Wait 3 days for refund, then booked another place, received confirmation, paid in full, got cancelled by the owner. I spoke with someone in customer service who said “Don’t reserve anything until you message the owner and make sure the place is really available.”My question is-what good is a confirmation if the owner can cancel after you’ve paid? Why not call it a request to book and allow the owner to let you know BEFORE YOU PAY whether they will accept your request. I spent 4 days staring at my phone searching and searching. This process needs to be fixed

Good customer service

We are staying tomorrow, so will update fully if anything changes here, but -I wanted to add a different opinion to the majority here, we had some issues with the host which I will explain below, and, I came onto read these and my heart dropped as I was awaiting a response from customer services.My experience, has overall, with Vrbo, been really great. Obviously, there was a mix up, and our host claims he wasn't ever on Vrbo and thought it was a scam email, so, didn't answer any of my emails or questions. A few days go by after initally booking and no response to questions, so I contact Vrbo and they assured me booking was correct and would be going through, it's protected if anything arises and I go about my next few days, I then ask the host again and no response, so I get back in touch with Vrbo who explained to contact the host directly, which I did, to the response above.I immediately contacted Vrbo after being told the property wasn't available, I called a few times and the UK line wasn't working, but, did manage to get through, I had a call at 6pm last night (27/08/2021) which I was told they would find a suitable room, and I emailed over the screenshots of our message to them and they sent over some properties, all the ones online Vrbo weren't suitable, so they were happy enough to go beyond Vrbo and into Expedias branches and after a call this morning around 11AM I was told they were looking at a hotel that was more suited for our stay and explained that they were refunding us and giving the hotel free as a good will gesture.There was obviously a miscommunication somewhere from the host to Vrbo and the accommodation was booked, whilst it was not available, which sucks, but, i simply cannot really fault the process of what has happened after.The whole thing caused a lot of stress and given it was so close, but in less than 18 hours I was given confirmation of the new property and the explanation of my refund.To anyone here, I'd recommend that you go for a premium host or one with ratings!But, I've found Vrbos customer services, pretty spot on.Thanks again!
