Broken Swimsuit, refuses to refund. (UPDATE)

UPDATE-- MODCLOTH has changed their stance and made this right with me. Just had to speak to the next level of support. Thank you ModCloth and I will recommend them now for their good customer service. Received a broken swimsuit, the underwire/sidewire portion was broken/missing. I returned the suit and they claimed they can't refund me because the swimsuit is broken. DUH Why do you think I'm returning it? I am very disappointed and I will not order from them again considering they are SUPER expensive and I can't afford to lose this much money on a broken item! I am going to give this negative review on every possible review website I can find. Shame, I spent hundreds of dollars with them over the years and they refuse my ONE and ONLY refund request. You've lost my business forever. Hope that the $80.00 was wroth the potential revenue you've lost.

Love MC! Just make sure you read shipping and return policies.

I have been a regular customer of MC for about a year. I also do a ton of online shopping in general. I will agree that their order and returns processing is a bit slower (by a couple days, not weeks) than other, larger companies I order from. It can be a bit worse if you're shopping during a high-volume time like one of their massage seasonal switch-over sales. That is the only compliant I can make about them and since I know that's the case, I simply make sure I order early if I need something for an event. On the whole, I've been very happy with my purchases and their customer service. They absolutely do offer free shipping and returns every day with the exclusion of final sale items. You simply need to take the time to read the information on their website. Heck, you can just chat in to customer service and ask them to lay it out for you if you don't feel like looking it up. They don't remotely try to hide their policies. I don't find their return windows unreasonable at all. I've found that online-only companies including my BFF Amazon tend to only give you a month. With MC, you have the choice to take store credit PLUS an extra $5 when you return or you can deduct $5 from your return if you want your actual money back. I ALWAYS take the store credit! Why turn down free money given how often they add new stuff I want?

LONGTIME satisfied customer

What in the world is going on in here? I've been shopping Modcloth for YEARS now. I just stumbled on this site looking for something about the policy upon receiving a defective item. I am a solid 10 to 12 orders in with them, and this is the first time anything was amiss--and in this case, it's just a defect in the print on the fabric. I've kept 92% of what I've ordered from them, the orders arrive well packed in clean, attractive boxes, and they ship according to schedule (if you pay for better than their cheap $4 shipping, you can get it faster). I've also never had problems with their (FREE) returns policy the couple of times I've employed it. Y'all are BUGGIN'. But that's okay--I guess that's just fewer people buying up my sizes.

Cute clothes, but sizing/shipping are issues.

The clothes are adorable, but sizing can be inconsistent, even when you use sizing charts. I've received a number of items that don't fit, but which I have had to keep anyway because return shipping is so expensive. It should be free, like with other US retailers that ship to Australia (eg. Urban Outfitters, Amazon). Most important for Australian shoppers: NEVER CHOOSE STANDARD/FREE SHIPPING, unless you're okay with waiting months for your clothes. I'm currently waiting on an order placed more than a month ago - tracking tells me it took 19 days after dropoff for the courier to accept the parcel and process it for delivery, so god knows when it will arrive. Past packages have been similarly slow. Fast/express shipping is pretty quick, and 100% worth the extra cost.I wish I could give ModCloth five stars because I love their aesthetic and philosophy, but alas. I hope that one day they get their act together with regard to sizing/shipping, so that we can see them at their fullest potential.

Wonderful clothing, Company is improving

I've made 3 purchases from Modcloth, usually around 5 items each purchase. I love the clothing, though I do read reviews thoroughly for fit tips before purchasing. I have made a couple returns - both times the first attempt at returning items "appeared" go through, but I never got a return label. When contacted, initially Modcloth was not sympathetic, but I perservered and eventually they refunded the purchase price rather than receiving store credit. They claim to have an updated website that should have resolved the returns problems. I will continue to shop at Modcloth and have recommended them to several friends.

Adorable clothes, atrocious return process.

I absolutely love all of the clothing Modcloth sell on their website. I have never been disappointed with the quality of their clothing. I have on occasion failed to order the proper size which tends to happen when you are ordering online. Which leads me to explain how annoying their return process can be. It takes forever to process your return and receive your refund. Heaven forbid you need to exchange the item for a different size. Rest assure they will more then likely be sold out, so don't bother. As long as you do not need to return Modcloth is amazing.
