Easy enough and nice discounts but some major issues

Easy enough to use, but extending an existing card could be made a lot easier. Not sure why I have to set up everything from scratch again. Can't be GDPR as all my data were still showing in the app. Also, even though I am using the discounts myself, I find the whole idea rather discriminatory. Moreover Railcard works with unscrupulous "partner programs" to trick customers.

Spoke to David on the customer service team, Scottish man, was really patient with me as i was stressed and I had no idea how to navigate around the app and had confused myself of which type of railcard had been ‘dispatched’ to me, really helpful and lovely to speak to

Decent but discriminatory

Decent but discriminatory. I love my Network Railcard but why can I not get one that covers the whole of the country. The ageism stinks for 31-59-year-olds, nothing available for us aside from in the South East, or unless we are part of a group. I thought a great objective would be to get single-occupant cars off the roads to help the environment but that obviously hasn't occurred to the powers that be.

Solution to "empty basket and try again"

Tried several times to purchase and each time error message occurred, saying to empty basket and try again. Solution is to tick one of the boxes at the end to say you want to me notified of special offers, once you do that it works. Tried this method twice with success.But agree it's a crap website.

Was trying to renew 26-30 railcard…

Was trying to renew 26-30 railcard online but unable to put in my DOB despite it being valid. This was very annoying. However I contacted them via direct message on Twitter and they got back to me very quickly to explain about the technical issue and gave me a number to call. A bit of a wait on the phone but once I was through the man was very efficient and my railcard was renewed very speedily. Service on Twitter and the phone was 5 star but technical issue (and lack of info about this on website when it's clearly an ongoing problem) put it down to 4

The last time I bought a three year…

The last time I bought a three year railcard but was unable to travel for at least 18months of this due to Covid and public transport not being advised. Of course there were no refunds or extensions. Now I decided to purchase an annual card this time figuring the most I would waste would be £30 if lockdown occurred again. It arrived this afternoon on the 21st end date being 20th next year so that’s two days use I won’t be getting out of it. I know the overall savings are great but this seems a little unfair.

Only given 3 due to messing about…

Only given 3 due to messing about involved but customer service quite good. Tried to purchase a 3yr plastic senior railcard online today. The form kept saying the last two digits of my passport were invalid. Rang up & Sujit took my details but it did the same for him so I emailed a photo of my passport over which I did not like. Rang back as advised & another chap finished the process for me. Just have to wait up to 7 days for delivery. Don't know if theres a problem with their system regarding some passport numbers, or what as I have read of others having issues, needs sorting ASAP if there is.

Website problems but customer service great! How to buy a railcard....

I read these reviews when struggling with buying a 1 year Two Together railcard online and getting the same error message. So frustrating when you're trying to get something done quickly! However, customer service couldn't have been more helpful and apologetic. They must get this all the time. They responded very quickly over facebook chat. They first advised to clear the cache and cookies from my browser, but that didn't work. Their next suggestion didn't fix the website problem but did allow me to quickly buy a railcard:- Email railcardhelp @nationalrail.co.uk with the passport style photos and names (I also included the voucher code for the Tesco Clubcard vouchers I wanted to use)- Call 0345 3000 0250 (customer service) to pay for the railcard over the phone- Tell them the reference number supplied in the auto response to your photo email, so they can look it up (and remind them about any vouchers you want to use to pay)- Pay using card over the phone- An email with a download code arrived immediately after the call and I was able to get my railcard on the app straight away :)Customer service line is open 7am - 10pmHopefully this helps someone who is as stressed as I was last night!
