Worst experience ever with online shopping

I placed 2 orders on J Crew website yesterday. It was the worst online shopping experience I've ever had. It took me about an hour to find the items i liked, and about 4 hours struggling to place an order on their website. It kept crashing and i had to re-find the items and start the process all over again. This happened for almost 4 hours before i was able to place the order. Got the email confirmation with the total amount more than double what it was on the website. Turned out they never applied the promo code that I added on the order. Went ahead and canceled all the items (1 by 1 because they don't let you cancel the whole order). Started the same process again, and this time, it only took about 5 tries before i was able to place the order. Got a confirmation email today, with the price triple what it was when i submitted the order on their website. At this point, it just made sense to cancel the order and never go back, but cancellation was not even an option this time since all the items are "Final sale" with no return and no exchange policy. Being a loyal customer for 10 years now, always love their products and quality, this is so far the worst experience ever. Time to find another favourite brand. Don't waste your time and money...Update: was able to get someone on the phone. Kathryn, I believe, was very helpful and nice. She was able to adjust the price and do a refund on the items that have been shipped. I haven't received them yet, but at least they tried.

My Fav Online Retailer!!

This year JCrew is not offering the super sale deals I have gotten in the past three to four years. I usually only buy when there is a sale on a sale but boy, has my credit card gotten a work out with them!!! Their customer service is superb. Their feedback on the status of my orders is superb. Their website is world class. Their returns are prompt. And lately I have gotten a really cute "thank you for your order" notice in my emails from them (usually with some cute puppies or what not). Yes their prices are a little high but their designs are always a cut above and their clothes fit well. And their kids clothes are the bomb! in the past several years I have probably made several hundred orders with them and have never been disappointed.

Way overpriced for the quality and service you receive

For the price I'm paying, I'd rather go with a cheaper brand and literally get 2-3 similar garments for the same cost and the exact same quality. I'm not saying the quality is bad, I'm just saying they are overpriced. I hope J Crew decides to reduce retail locations because I've had bad experiences with them.

One of the item was out of stock after…

One of the item was out of stock after I have placed the order. I called them and they helped me replaced the item. Excellent customer service and friendly. J.Crew is probably just getting overwhelmed by the holiday sales so it might take a while for them to respond. It took them at least 2 days to respond my email but in the end, they fixed the the problem that is the most important part.

Great staff on the phone and love the merchandise's quality

I've been shopping at Jcrew lately and so far, I have had great experience with them. The staffs always sound very friendly and helpful on the phone. They go out of their way to accommodate my needs, so I am really happy with their customer service and their merchandise quality is much better than any other retail stores such as Zara, Mango, H&M and etc. I agree with some reviewers on here that some staffs are not as friendly in the store and this is why I prefer to go order my items online and talk to customer service over the phone.

The store in New Canaan used to be a pleasant place to shop with helpful staff- no more! The worst - not one upstairs associate greeted us or offered assistance. One rudely reached right across me to grab a shirt - did not acknowledge my presence in any way. Downstairs the situation was better but on the whole a depressung experience.
