DIRECTV Senior Discount August 2022

Directv got me hooked up next day. Tech showed up in time window and was professional. He took great pains to dind the best spot for our dish. My only issue is why hasn’t directv upgraded the dvr to record more than 5 tuners and 209 hours. Also please Heroes and Icons, Grit, METV and film detective these are great channels and are great for classic and western fans

I called up to get the NFL Ticket,Direct TV always gives it for free to new customers.They never remember the loyal customers.I have been with Direct TV since 1994 ,like there service.I was on the phone with Customer service where they were doing nothing for me.I was transferred to an Agent in Arizona ,her name was Nayla .She reviewed my account an gave me the NFL Ticket for free for being a loyal customer for 25 yrs.Thankyou NAYLA and DIRECT TV.. DIRECTTV NOW is GREAT. (Don't be confused with its Satellite division, which is less than ideal. They quote a price and will not share with you possible lower cost options until you are ready to quit. Not too caring of customer's pocketbooks!)However, due to the vast number of current online streaming companies and the values each offer on service, channels, programming, and yes--COST. There is none (unless you want to "jailbreak" a device) that offers so much for so little in cost. It is MUCH cheaper than it's satellite option--no cost for a box or any other item from them. However, you must buy Apple TV (and they do upgrade fairly often...) but recently we got it for a STEAL of a DEAL--FREE! If you have a great internet service...DirectTV NOW is the choice for your programming needs. BEST VALUE? Add HBO for $5!!!

My family had DirecTV when I was a kid. I never heard them complain about billing or customer service but what did I know, I was a kid. All I knew was that it was awesome for us.We switched to Dish once and Time Warner once back then. Neither were in the house more than a couple days. Since then I’ve lived in Toledo, OH, Virginia Beach, VA, Cleveland, OH, and Detroit, MI. Having DirecTV in every location. At this point I’m wondering if the negative reviews I’ve seen are posted or paid for by competitors.I’ve never had one billing error in the past 8 years. I never needed customer service, so I can’t speak to that. I also thought it was ridiculous when I found myself smack dab in the middle of a tropical storm in VABeach watching the weather for updates on my DirecTV. The only down side I can attest to is actually having the Satellite on my property, and frankly I just don’t care.

Lets start with the pros. I have DIRECTV for about 16 years. There have been minor problems with them and their customer service is rated 5 stars. They have always addressed any problems promptly.Cons: DIRECT costs about $180 more than DISH over a 2 year period for almost exact same service. They give you a discounted price for the first year then your prices will rise about 40% in the second year of contract. This was my experience. I recently switched to DISH and rated them 4 stars because they are cheaper and their equipment is impressive. DIRECTV promotes their prices by using discounts or credits. Of course you need ATT cell phones, DSL, and home phone service to get these. DISH has a flat rate price no matter what other services you have. DISH doesn't not have service with ABC at the moment so I would rate DIRECTV service 5 stars and DISH service 4 stars.

I have been a Directv customer for over 8 years, so that says a lot, right?, there are pluses and negatives with DTv, here is my list: excellent HD 1080 definition although I just found out that Netflix Super1080HD definition provides a better and sharper 1080 picture, via internet, go an figure.that!!... DTv TV menu is very good with a lot user friendly features, specially the closed caption which is available in clear yellow display, just like a DVD movie, love that!..lots of channels in HD.., the navigation is at times slow ( I assume while they are uploading data, may be?)..so patients is needed to switch from one channel to the new one; their On Demand for the local channels are on SD only, no HD available (I refuse to watch nothing but HD!), I have contacted them several times on this issue to no avail, the competition, Comcast and UVerse, have it on HD, also DTv On Demand service is very slow to navigate into, it takes long time to download (via internet) the menu to view the selections, hence I hardly ever use it, I must say the premium paid channels are all on HD, but I am not subscribe to them, so if On Demand is big with you, then stay away from DTv... their HD DVR receivers are excellent, always works and never get stock or break ( I hear this a lot from comcast customers), excellent menu to program your recordings! .. loosing the signal with rain in Miami can be a minor issue, you will lose momentarily the signal on heavy rain, I would say I get 97-99% year around tv signal!!..and last I must say that their customer service is always professional and very helpful, and you don't have to have wait for ever on the line to get assistance, that is a plus!. Overall, I am keeping Directv because the competition, in my opinion, have more flows than Directv, no cable provider is perfect, so you must decide what works for you best. PS. I hate Comcast HD menu where the local channels are not customize to your actual local numbers, their local channels are on the 400+.. ..I don't have the Genie receivers yet, I am studying it to see if it is better than what I have, remember the old saying, if ain't broke don't fix it!!!
